The Enterprise Zone (EZ) is a specific geographic area targeted for economic revitalization. It encourages economic growth and investments in distressed areas by offering incentives to businesses within the zone. Lauderhill joined forces with the Fort Lauderdale / Broward County EZ in December 2005. Unincorporated Broward County and Dania Beach also make up the Fort Lauderdale / Broward County EZ.
The City of Lauderhill offers tax credits and incentives to businesses located or locating within the Lauderhill Enterprise Zone boundaries. The Enterprise Zone Program was created to offer financial incentives and stimulate redevelopment in distressed areas through cities in order to improve the infrastructure and quality of life of the residents and employees within the zone.
