CRA projects in Central have focused on the plan goals of acquiring key properties, removing commercial uses from residential areas, adding green space, and developing a sense of community. The purchase of Mission Lake Plaza, renamed Renaissance Plaza, allowed the CRA to move out commercial tenants and to replace them with the Arts Incubator, which has brought working artists, exhibitions, and classes to the community. It also allowed for one of the three buildings to be demolished and plans to replace it with greens pace.
The CRA is also working on the redevelopment of the old City Hall site into single family housing and additional park space. The site has been cleared and bids are being solicited to construct 14 single family homes on the site.
